DASTAAN Volume IV — Six Shades, One Story: The Collection Every Pakistani Man Should Know

DASTAAN Volume IV by Sheikh Gulzar Fabrics — six premium men's unstitched fabrics in black, navy, charcoal, off-white, Boski and burgundy, crafted in Faisalabad since 1957

By Sheikh Gulzar Fabrics · Est. 1957, Faisalabad · Updated July 2026

Every man's wardrobe tells a story. The question is whether it's a story worth telling.

Dastaan — in Urdu, an epic. A tale passed down because it deserved to be. Not a trend, not a season's passing fancy, but a narrative with weight.

That is precisely what we named our collection after. Because DASTAAN Volume IV is not six fabrics. It is six chapters of the same story — the story of how a Pakistani man dresses when he understands that colour is character.

Each article in this volume carries the name Shah — king. Not as decoration, but as a standard. These are the six shades that have dressed Pakistan's most composed men for generations: the deep black of authority, the navy of trust, the charcoal of the modern professional, the off-white of grace, the Boski gold of tradition, and the burgundy of occasion.

The Philosophy Behind DASTAAN

Most fabric collections in Pakistan are assembled around what's available — whatever the mill produced that quarter, packaged under a seasonal name. DASTAAN Volume IV was built the opposite way. We started with a question: if a man could own only six fabrics, which six colours would carry him through every occasion of Pakistani life?

Eid mornings and Jummah prayers. Wedding functions and walimas. Boardrooms and business dinners. Milad gatherings and family occasions. Evening events and everyday dignity.

The answer became the collection. Six shades. No filler. Every article earns its place. And because these six colours needed to perform — not just look right on a shelf — every article is produced at Sahib Textile, our own manufacturing facility in Faisalabad, with the same fibre-level dye penetration that has made SGF the benchmark for colour permanence in Pakistan since 1957.

Shah Taaj — Black | The Flagship

From Rs. 4,450 · Rating: 5.0

Taaj — the crown. Every collection needs its cornerstone, and this is ours.

Shah Taaj is the deep, assured black that anchors a serious wardrobe — the colour that never asks for permission. A rich, saturated black that holds its character in any light and lends instant formality to the man wearing it.

Black's strength is its reach. Shah Taaj moves from formal gatherings and evening functions to weddings and Eid, from office settings to solemn occasions where restraint matters.

How to style it: A black khussa or peshawari keeps the look seamless. Almost any waistcoat — black, grey, deep green, or burgundy — sits well against it. Silver, gunmetal, or black buttons all suit the tone, and a grey or black shawl adds winter weight without disturbing the line.

Shah Miras — Navy Blue | The Dependable Companion

From Rs. 4,450 · Rating: 5.0

Miras — inheritance. The shade a man passes down because it never stops being right.

Navy is the colour of trust and composure. Deeper than ordinary blue, warmer than black, Shah Miras is the fabric a man reaches for when he wants to look correct without thinking twice. It moves easily from the office to formal evening events, from family dinners to professional functions, and into refined everyday wear when black feels too severe.

How to style it: Brown or black khussa both work. A grey, navy, or tan waistcoat sharpens the look for formal wear. Brass buttons for warmth, silver for a cooler finish. A grey or camel shawl carries it through winter.

Shah Nawaz — Charcoal Grey | The Modern Professional

From Rs. 4,450 · Rating: 5.0

Nawaz — the one who bestows. A shade that gives without demanding attention.

Charcoal is grey at its most sophisticated — darker and more serious than mid-grey, softer and more approachable than black. On the body it reads as composed and capable — the colour of someone comfortable in formal rooms and boardrooms alike. Built for the working week and the events that follow it.

How to style it: Black oxfords or a clean black peshawari keep things formal. A black, grey, or deep navy waistcoat sharpens the silhouette. Gunmetal or silver buttons suit the cool tone. A navy or charcoal shawl extends the look into winter.

Shah Sawar — Off-White | The Daytime Grace

From Rs. 4,450 · Rating: 5.0

Sawar — the horseman. Upright, composed, seen from a distance.

A soft, dignified neutral — clean without being stark, traditional without feeling ordinary. More forgiving and more refined than a plain bright white, with a gentle ivory softness that feels especially fitting in daylight. Shah Sawar belongs to Eid prayers and Jummah, daytime wedding functions and walima gatherings, milad and religious events.

How to style it: Tan or white khussa keeps the look traditional. A beige, brown, or maroon waistcoat adds depth for formal events. Mother-of-pearl or cream buttons suit the tone, and a soft shawl in beige or brown completes a graceful daytime ensemble.

Shah Nawab — Boski Colour | The Heritage Shade

From Rs. 4,450 · Rating: 5.0

Nawab — nobility itself. The shade of elders and grooms across generations.

Few colours carry the cultural weight of the traditional Boski tone. A soft ivory base warmed by a golden undertone gives this fabric a dignified glow that suits daytime light especially well. Made for the calendar's most meaningful days — Eid mornings, Jummah, mehndi and nikah functions, milad gatherings, and traditional family events.

How to style it: Tan or cream khussa works beautifully. A brown or deep maroon waistcoat adds contrast for formal events. Pearl-finish or soft gold buttons suit the tone, and a brown or rust shawl brings warmth through winter.

Shop: sheikhgulzarfabrics.com/products/dastaan-volume-4-shah-nawab-boski-colour  ·  4m Rs. 4,450 · 5m Rs. 4,950 · 6m Rs. 5,450 · Stitched from Rs. 5,950

Shah Misal — Burgundy | The Statement of Occasion

From Rs. 4,450

Misal — the example. The article that opens the volume and sets its tone.

Shah Misal carries the depth of aged red wine — a shade that feels considered rather than loud. Burgundy sits between formality and warmth: darker and more grounded than red, softer than black, and it photographs with a quiet richness under evening light. A fabric for wedding functions, evening dinners, ceremonial gatherings, and the cooler months when deeper tones come into their own.

How to style it: Black peshawari chappals or a polished khussa, a black or deep charcoal waistcoat for formal evenings, and antique-gold or dark metal buttons to lift the tone. In winter, a charcoal or cream shawl completes the look without competing with the colour.

The intelligent approach: most SGF customers who buy from DASTAAN start with two articles — one dark (Shah Taaj or Shah Miras) and one light (Shah Sawar or Shah Nawab). Between those two, nearly every occasion in the Pakistani calendar is covered.

Unstitched or Stitched — DASTAAN Gives You Both

For the first time, every article in DASTAAN Volume IV is available two ways:

Unstitched fabric — for your own darzi:

  • 4 metres (Rs. 4,450) — sizes S to XL, standard cut
  • 5 metres (Rs. 4,950) — XXL or longer kameez preferences
  • 6 metres (Rs. 5,450) — traditional Sindhi/Balochi cuts or larger sizes

Stitched to size — tailored by SGF Stitching House:

  • Small, Medium, Large (Rs. 5,950)
  • X Large (Rs. 6,450)

The stitched option means the fabric is cut and stitched under the same roof where it was manufactured — quality control from fibre to finished garment that no ready-to-wear brand in Pakistan can match.

Why DASTAAN Is Different

  • Manufactured, not sourced. Every metre is produced at Sahib Textile, Faisalabad — our own facility since 1957 with German dyeing technology.
  • Colour that stays. Fibre-level dye penetration means the shade you buy is the shade you keep — wash after wash.
  • A collection, not an assortment. Six articles, deliberately chosen, designed to work together as a complete wardrobe system.
  • Verify Before You Buy. Inspect every article on delivery before you commit. Nationwide delivery with easy returns and exchanges.

Begin Your Dastaan

Six shades. Six chapters. One standard — the one we've kept since 1957.
